ACA Nondiscrimination Regulations
ACA Nondiscrimination Regulations
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) recently issued new ACA Nondiscrimination regulations that will be effective October 17, 2016. These new regulations will apply to all medical practices that see patients with Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP, or a health plan sold through the marketplace. Medical practices are required to post taglines on their website, and in their practice location, to notify individuals with limited English proficiency of the availability of language assistance services. These taglines must be posted in the 15 most commonly spoken languages in the state of Iowa. Click here for sample taglines on the HHS Office of Civil Rights website.
PHO is working with Professional Office Services (POS) on a future group purchasing relationship. POS can confirmed that they will offer all PHO members a 15% discount on printing for the Nondiscrimination Notices that need to be posted in medical practices.
